Networked Stock Control & Sales Management

Our product range now consists of two stand alone, single user systems, Rightcontrol Lite and Rightcontrol PRO, and our multi-user PRO Workgroup Edition.

With the same technologies and business management features as PRO, the WorkGroup version allows up to 5 users to concurrently use the system, to control stock with barcoding, make sales & invoices and despatches from the warehouse.

The pricing of the PRO version is GBP 20 and the WorkGroup version costs GBP 50.

Many other systems at this price point do not allow for cross network usage, but Rightcontrol offers ease of use and advanced controls for small business owners looking to expand from single user operation.

Stock Control & Google's fickle game

So after a couple of weeks of relegation to page 2, we appeared, once again, on page 1, SERP 9.

It seems either we were worried over nothing and Googlebot was just taking its time crawling our links and adjusting our relevancy, or the small changes we made to the website brought us back to our familiar position on Page 1.

Although we only made tiny changes to the index page (we added a brief news item of our latest feature, part factoring), it seems that making these frequent changes keeps our website considered 'fresh'.

We also made some small changes to other pages on the site, and also made another round of link building, so our link presence should increase over the course of the next few weeks and months.

I think a continuing link building strategy and constant addition of relevant and useful content will at least keep us on our 1st page position, if not improve our SERPs overall. There is no shortcut to making a relevant and useful site, so a steady clean strategy and a bucket of patience is what keeps a website's SERP and relevancy up.

Google Hates Us!

Oh Woe!

Well, as with most website owners, we enjoyed a few months of glory on the first page, then were relegated back to the lower stratas of the search engine continuum.

What did we do wrong?

Well, all I can think of is nothing, quite literally!

We did very little changes to the website over the last month, merely adding a comparison matrix of our Stock Control software products, updated some of the support pages and made some changes to the product descriptions, but on the whole, we did not add or modify much of the text, nor did we go out to increase our link tally.

Perhaps this is where we went wrong and let our SERPs status slip from 9th on first page to 14th for "Stock Control Software".

Well let me tell you, I wouldn't stand for that, so we are going to keep on the rampage on building links and writing articles, as well as keep on improving and modifying our site, which is apparantly the best way to increase a website's SERPs.

More as we go on....
