Google me - I love it!

Well, after two to three months of SEO work and expanding our site with articles, product information and bigging it up on other websites, we're on the second page on Google uk for the search term 'Stock Control Software'.

Basically, I think the work we've done with article building, forum writing and generally making a more expansive, informative site has really buoyed us up from nowhere.
As we still have a very long way to go regards the site, we can only get better as we improve our web presence and get to page 1 and play with the big boys.

We followed lots of SEO tips and advice, and made sure our site is search engine friendly and clean, and writing informative pages about our products, which is pretty much the best advice I can give for someone trying to get up there on Google.

See you on the first page....

Stock Control SERPs

Search Engine Results Pages!

Anyone working on SEO knows that SERPs is important.
Search the phrase 'Stock Control' on Google and it will return about 32 million pages.

Unfortunately, we are nowhere near the first page!
Now, we are on MSN's SERP 1, in most combinations of Stock Control phrases, but nowhere to be seen on Yahoo or Google.

A lot of SEO engineers say that inclusion with Yahoo's directory pretty much sorts that out on Yahoo, but Google is a much tougher nut to crack, and I think we have to mature our site more to get there.

What I mean is we need to increase the size of the site with relevant content, and have been around for a while. Now, although our site has been around for nearly three years, the major changes we have made might not register with Google for a while, and certainly the Google Algorithm dance is still not liking how recent our links are, not to mention the possiblity that portal sites are actually dragging us down, though we are not entirely sure.

Well, we'll see, as we can compare and contrast for when we change that site.
